What is meant by Vedic Mathematics?

 

The term Vedic came from the Sanskrit word Veda means Knowledge. Vedic maths methods are based on a collection of Sutras to solve maths calculations in a faster and easy way.

Who is the father of VEDIC mathematics?

 

Vedic Mathematics –the ancient Indian method of solving mathematical problem was rediscovered by Sankaracharya Bharathi Krishna Thirthaji  and is known as Father of vedic mathematics.

If completeness is taken away from completeness, Only completeness remains

This philosophical thought is genuinely Indian and which leads to the concept of Soonya-Zero.

Zero played a major role in the development of mathematics much fold.

Along with zero and other 9 number symbols, the decimal system developed in India paved a smooth way towards modern science and technological developments.

Indian contributions in Geometry,, trigonometry and Algebra are significant ones.

Later in the 12th century onwards Indian mathematicians especially Kerala mathematicians developed infinite series which lead to the Calculus.

The ancient system of teaching mathematics by connecting the concepts with life and nature.

  Stories and puzzles explained in
the Ganit -mathematics texts of Ancient India 
  are relevant in modern days to create interest and motivate students to follow mathematics.
